Each show presented at the Performing Arts Center is a catalyst for enrichment, involvement and economic growth in our community.
How do the performing arts impact out community?
- Rental revenue is generated for the WRPS system every time a show is booked.
- Advertizing dollars are generated through media and print advertizing.
- Patrons planning to attend a show may shop for something new to wear, dine at a local restaurant, or stay at a local hotel, along with visiting artists.
- Sponsoring organizations receive recognition through program advertizing.
- Lobby refreshments, which are sponsored by local youth and nonprofit groups, raise funds for student trips, community work and education programs.
- Arts in Education programs offer area youth the opportunity to meet and learn from professional artists. Srudent performances impact up to 800 students at one time. For many, it will be their first time experiencing a live performance.
- Students interesting in theatre as a profession are on-site from load-in to load-out, broadening their hands-on experience in lighting, sound and artist interaction through their involvement as PAC technical crew.
- Sponsorships of world-class performances helps attract new businesses and industries, as our community seeks to develop itself. A lively cultural community is appealing for relocation for many people. It can help retain people, too.
- Exposure to the arts can inspire one to envision new solutions, bridge the human bond of different nations and cultures. It can improve the development of various skills, from problem solving to working collaboratively.
- Bringing people together in an activity that creates a good feeling can be a foundation for peace.
